Settlement: the valley of Livigno has been inhabited for 1000 years, initially for military motives as it was a strategic point between the Northern and Southern Alps.

Surroundings: By car from Livigno you can visit some delightful places; St.Moritz and the Engadin (also on the "Trenino Rosso", the famous train from Tirano to St.Moritz which passes the Bernina), the Canton Grigione in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Merano, the Alto Adige, Innsbruck and the Tyrol, Bormio and its thermal baths, the Valtellina - rich in traditions and history, the Stelvio pass - the highest pass in Europe and the Ortles- Cevedale glaciers.
