WALKS IN LIVIGNO
There are walks suitable for everyone of all ages, for those who wish to revitalise themselves in the fresh mountain air by taking a stroll over the grasslands or in the forests that surround the town.
 

A) SPASEGEDA SÔMP L'AQUA
A walk or cycle ride along the River Spöl. This is for those who wish to take a gentle stroll in the natural surroundings of Livigno up to the Vago-Gras Degli Agnelli.

A1) SAN GIOVANNI - PONT DA LI CABRA
For all, on foot or by cycle, along the Spöl and partly running   along the lakeside, also with rest areas and benches.

A2) ISOLA
A surfaced path and separate cycle path from Bondi to the Luigion Pont.  Recommended for mothers with small children in push chairs  or bicycles and for those who just wish to enjoy the sun and fresh air and to rest.  Also illuminated at night.

A3) BOSC DAL RESTEL
A pleasant walk along the lake through an ancient larch forest from Pemont to Pont da Li Cabra, where the Stelvio National Park starts and  a picnic area can be found. The Bosc dal Restel  is great for keep fit addicts who wish to jog and can soon take advantages of the services that will be offered at the Fitness Centre to be constructed near the lake.

A4) TEOLA
From Bondi, a gentle climb up to the Teola area, descending down to Luigion and returning to its point of departure.

B) SPASEGEDA PANORAMICA
(a panoramic walk or mountain bike ride).
For those of you who wish to walk that little bit further and appreciate Livigno from slightly higher up.
 

On the right orographical side:
B5) BOSC DA LI TEA
An easy walk from Teola, almost completely flat and with occasional rest
areas. Through the pine forest descending to Ponte di San Giovanni.  For those wanting  a little more than just a leisurely stroll you can go on to the Tresenda chapel.

B6) TEE DA PEMONT
From Bondi to Pemont along a “Trescenda”, a path which follows the line of wooden cottages along the outer limit of the woods.

On the left orographical side:
B7) PANORAMICA DA LI TEA:
A long path running along the edge of the forest, its grass fields and occasional wooden cottage, from  Calcheira to Palipert, taking in Plazec, Tagliede, Plan, Rin, Poz, Pel, Borch, and Florin. Being the longest walk, about 2 hours, it can also be  divided into shorter walks as the path is accessible at several points from the town

C) PERCORSO VITA
The most energetic amongst you will enjoy toning up your muscles in the fresh mountain forest air. The “percorso vita” (fitness run)  is situated on the left hand side of the mouth of Val Federia and could be considered a sort of open air gym, free to  move, to run, jump and regenerate yourself in the fresh outdoors.

P1 - BAITEL DAL MOTT m 2.250
You follow the boundaries of the Stelvio National Park through an ancient larch forest with magnificent views of Livigno, the lake and the glaciers of the ortles-Cevedale - Piazzi group. It’s a paradise for photography enthusiasts. Marmots, chamois, steinbecks and even eagles can be seen.

P2 - AL LAGO NERO m 2.551
Walking across an enchanting  green pasture you have magnificent views of the Bernina (4.050m), Piazzi (3.441m), Ortles-Cevedale (3.900m) and also the Lake of San Giacomo di Fraele. The Lago Nero (Black Lake), which is part of the Stelvio National Park, is situated in a pretty green cirque (basin) and is well stocked with trout. The many marmots will keep you company along the way.

P3 - ALPE IN VALLE DELLE MINE m 2.192.
As you leave the bridge “da Lal” you are facing the Val delle Mine, walking on through the pine forests you may  see marmots and further up deer and chamois. The route up to the summer pastures of Val delle Mine is fairly  gentle and here you can taste a bowl of polenta accompanied by dairy  products produced in this tiny  small holding.

P4 -VALLE E PASSO VALLACCIA m 2.614
From the main road you follow the stream up to its source in deep green pastures filled with the red of rhododendrons and the many colours of the wild flowers. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the summer small holding  where you can taste its dairy products. Following on past the summer grazing you start to climb towards the Vallaccia Pass where you open up to magnificent mountain scenery.

P5 - AL BAITEL DELL'ABLES E DEL MOTON
This is a full day walk. Flowers are in abundance in the magnificent larch woodlands, in July the reds of the rhododendrons are overwhelming and in August the forest floor is covered with blackcurrants and bilberries with mushrooms  arriving in the second half of the month. The views over Livigno and the Bernina group are unique. At the Val delle Mine small holding you can taste its products.

P6 - AL PARCO NAZIONALE DELLO STELVIO
This walk allows you to admire the immense variety of flowers and colours in the pine forests, chamois, steinbecks, deer, marmots and eagles that inhabit the area and the marvellous views over the lake of Livigno.

P7 - AI LAGHI DELLA FORCOLA
A quite long but easy walk close to the Italo-Swiss border.  This is an area characterised by nine small alpine lakes, the kingdom of the marmots, steinbecks, chamois and eagles.  It’s also possible to see many rare varieties of  flowers during the summer season.

P8 - RIFUGIO E PASSO CASSANA m 2.682
Winding your way through the green, flowery meadows of Val Federia, past cottages and crossing the Rin da Caschana stream, you are accompanied by the whistling of marmots as you start to climb towards the refuge. You may see chamois, eagles and steinbecks perched on the ridges. The refuge looks out towards the  Ortles-Cevedale group, Cima Piazzi, Pizzo Paradisin and Corno di Campo and with this view you can eat a bowl of polenta and goulash. Those who don’t want to eat at the refuge  should take a packed lunch.
